The Pricing Analytics Intern program offers talented analytics students pursuing their MBA, MS, or Ph.D. the opportunity to further develop their advanced analytics skills and gain hands-on experience working to solve challenging and business critical issues for one of the world's leading retailers. The 12-week project will focus on framing the analysis, gathering data, applying analytical techniques to distill insights and presenting their findings to senior leaders of the Company. During the internship, participants will be using cutting edge technology, tools and methods to solve complex pricing related to analytical problems. Candidates are expected to leverage effective communication skills to translate complex analyses into understandable insights and recommendations.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

50%- Develop analysis framework and approach; Gather data required for the analysis and develop an analytical solution; Conduct quality assurance and validation of results; Synthesize findings and draw conclusions from analyses

20%- Work with business stakeholders to understand and assess business problem

10%- Define objectives of the analysis and develop project plan, including timing/milestones, deliverables, resources required and risks

20%- Provide comprehensive report to senior leadership outlining findings, insights, and recommendations

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the Sr Manager of Pricing Analytics.

This position has no direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled and pursuing an MBA, MS, or Ph.D. specializing in Analytics, Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Information Systems or related field

Experience in using SQL, Tableau, Python and similar tools

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
