Preserving our cultural heritage is a social priority. The science, and in particular chemistry, plays an important role in the sustainable preservation of our cultural heritage through the investigation of the objects with the aim of understanding their technologies and conservation state and the definition of ad hoc innovative conservation and restoration methods.
EuCheMS, the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (http://www.euchems.eu/about-us/what-is-e...) aims to nurture a platform for scientific discussion and to provide a single, unbiased European voice on key policy issues in chemistry and related fields. The EuCHEMS Working Party on Chemistry for Cultural Heritage organised in 2010 the first International ChemCH congress in Ravenna and since then other four editions have been held in Istanbul (TR) in 2012, Vienna (AT) in 2014, Brussels (BE) in 2016 and Bucarest (Ro) in 2018.
To celebrate the 10 years passed from the first edition the 6th ChemCH 2020 will be organised again in Ravenna to further promote the importance of sharing the at an international level cutting edges researches in the field of chemistry applied to the conservation of cultural heritage.
